2026 Spring Baseball

Fun Recreational Divisions for Ages 4 - 14

Pleasure Island Youth Baseball is franchised with DYB (12U - Diamond Youth Baseball) and DBB (13-14-Year-Olds - Dixie Boys Baseball).

Spring Player Age for all divisions is determined by age of child participant as of April 30, 2026.

Example: A child who turns 9 on February 24, 2026, will play as a 9-year-old in AAA - Kid Pitch this Spring.

Spring baseball is all about having fun and getting young players ready for the next level. The focus stays on building skills through practices and competitive games, while promoting good sportsmanship and camaraderie among everyone—coaches, players, and parents. A local continuous batting lineup rule ensures players get about the same number of turns at bat by the end of the season. Standings will be tracked to set up seeding for fun mid-season and end-of-season tournaments. Except for Tee Ball, coaches in all other divisions will draft players following skills assessments.

During registration, please use the Special Requests and Comments section to share any important details. Tee Ball players can request specific coaches or teammates, but in Coach Pitch and Kid Pitch divisions, these requests are not guaranteed since teams will be formed through a modified draft to keep things fair. Parents might have some leeway for reasonable requests, but it will still need to fit within draft parameters. Stay open to meeting new friends and try to keep special requests to a minimum. The alternative is no requests.

Coaches met on December 15th to discuss the spring draft process for each division and will meet again before the skills assessment weekend to finalize the plan. Collectively, coaches will focus on building a friendly, welcoming environment for all kids while making sure teams are balanced and fair.

Prospective coaches may sign up to volunteer as a head coach or assistant coach while completing player registration. Volunteer registration will not be considered finalized until a few additional steps have been completed, including a 2026 background check. It's simple and no cost to the volunteer.

First spring coach meeting for registered Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, AAA Kid Pitch and Majors "O" Zone coaches is scheduled for Monday, January 12 at 6:30 pm (location TBA). Additional opportunities, like field prep and volunteering in the concession stand, will be communicated soon.

When you register, you’ll have the option to donate to Pleasure Island Youth Baseball. Equipment like field prep tools, rakes, bases, safety L-screens, and training aids wear out over time at the ball fields in Mike Chappell Park and Veterans Park. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward improving our facilities. If there’s something specific, you’d like to see addressed, just send us an email.

Plans are in motion to add a batting cage at Veterans Park. The project will need significant financial backing, so anyone—individuals or businesses—interested in sponsoring this valuable practice and training feature is encouraged to get in touch with any questions. More updates on the project will be coming soon.

Sponsorships help keep our registration fees at a reasonable rate. This spring, more than 25 teams will need sponsorships. With the continued support of several long-time sponsors, we’ll only need about 10 new ones. If you or your business is interested in a team sponsorship, please send an email to [email protected]

Need Equipment? We'll let you know when the Dick's savings weekend has been scheduled.

We are looking forward to seeing all the families back at the ballpark.
